Kentucky’s TyTy Washington day-to-day with lower leg injury

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Kentucky freshman guard TyTy Washington is day-to-day with a left lower injury sustained while he tried to make a defensive play in Saturday’s 78-57 win over Florida.

Florida wing Brandon McKissic collided with the Kentucky freshman while diving on the floor for a loose ball, cutting Washington’s legs from underneath. The 6-foot-3 guard hobbled to the locker room at Rupp Arena following the play and did not return.

Washington left the game with 10 points, six assists and five boards.

No. 5 Kentucky next visits No. 19 Tennessee on Tuesday.

A projected NBA lottery pick, Washington has already dealt with a left ankle injury that caused him to miss one game last month. After injuring the ankle Jan. 22 against Auburn, he returned a week later against Kansas.
