Rowan Brumbaugh, the 6-foot-4 1/2, 180-pound point guard out of Northfield Mount Hermon School (Mass.), committed to Texas on Thursday after decommitting from Northwestern earlier this week.
Ranked the No. 10 point guard in 2022 by the 247Sports.com Composite, Brumbaugh was also recruited by Kansas, Maryland, Miami, and Oregon.
“They hit me up after I decommitted and they’ve always been one of my top schools,” he told 247Sports.com. “I didn’t want to be a part of the recruitment process again for long and just knew they were perfect.”
“I want to be a part of a winning culture. I want to win, I’m a winner and a true point guard and that’s a position they really need and I want to play for Chris Beard.”
NMH coach John Carroll said “the Texas decision is his. It’s where he wants to be.”
“Rowan has an elite basketball IQ,” Carroll said. “He loves the game and is constantly in pursuit of being a better basketball player each and every day! His passion for basketball will make him a great player for the coaches, teammates and fans in Austin!”
