No. 17 UConn with be without two key players for multiple weeks spanning key games with West Virginia and St. Bonaventure.
Tyrese Martin (wrist) and Adama Sanogo (abdominal strain) will both miss time, head coach Dan Hurley said Friday.
Martin is expected to miss 2-4 weeks and Sanogo at least 2 weeks.
The 6-foot-9 Sanogo is averaging 15.6 points and 6.3 rebounds, while the 6-6 Mattin is averaging 12.9 points and 7.7 rebounds.
Freshman Samson Johnson will be called on to play a bigger role in Sanogo’s absence.
After hosting Grambling State Saturday, the Huskies (7-1) visit West Virginia Wednesday before playing St. Bonaventure Dec. 11 in Newark.
The Huskies open Big East play Dec. 18 at home against Providence.
