Miles Byrd, the nation’s No. 10-ranked shooting guard, will announce his college decision on Saturday, October 2nd at 3pm ET, he tells ZAGSBLOG.
Byrd, the 6-foot-6, 165-pound shooting guard from Lincoln (CA) and the West Coast Elite AAU Program, took his final official visit to Saint Mary’s from Sept. 24-26.
“It was good. I really enjoyed it,” Byrd said. “You could feel the family like culture. It’s a small school so everyone is real close which is cool.”
Byrd said the Saint Mary’s coaching staff pitched the ability to develop as well as fit alongside players that can shoot consistently from three-point range.
“They pride themselves on their development with guards and have pros to prove it,” he said. “With my passing ability, they think me playing with a court full of 35 percent plus three-point shooters will help showcase that ability.”
Before visiting Saint Mary’s, Byrd took an official visit to Washington on September 18.
“It was nice. The city of Seattle is beautiful,” he said. “Just the investment from the whole staff, what a family the team is, and getting a chance to play open gym with the team, the guys were really encouraging and friendly.”
Byrd took his two other official visits to San Diego State and Colorado State. He also took an unofficial visit to Pacific in early September.
