Providence adds point guard Quante Berry

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Ed Cooley and his staff got a gift for the week of Fourth of July in the form of 6-foot-3 point guard Quante Berry out of Winston-Salem (N.C.) Christian and the Bobby Maze Elite AAU program.

Ranked the No. 33 point guard in the Class of 2022, the 6-foot-4, 175-pound Berry reportedly picked the Friars over South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.

The coaching staff they are all people I trust,” Berry said. “Coach Cooley has had so much success at my position, it’s just a perfect fit!”

Berry is Providence’s first Class of ’22 commit.

“I am going to be a combo guard playing on and off the ball,” Berry said. “I can score at all 3 levels.”
