Florida High’s Jaylen Martin has been on a tear this summer, showcasing explosive finishing and a vaunted one on one scoring game which continues to attract a chock full of Division 1 and high major Division 1 programs.
Martin recently received an offer from Texas Tech and head coach Mark Adams. Adams, the defensive tactician, appears to be casting a wide net while finally living out his dream job.
The 6-foot-7 high scoring Martin is an instinctive two way player with a motor, an all around scoring skill set and dazzling athleticism. A Class of 2022 product and one of several hotly pursued prospects in Florida-based Showtime Ballers, Martin currently holds offers from Ole Miss, Florida, Georgetown and a barrage of others.
Martin visited University of Florida last Wednesday.
He recently was offered by Iona, the fifth team which head coach Rick Pitino has taken to an NCAA tournament berth after their 13th MAAC championship in 2020-21.
The Gaels have been in consistent contact with Martin, who holds a 4.2 GPA at Florida High, since last fall.
Martin authored 30+ point performances in three consecutive games during the Showtime Ballers event at West Oaks Academy (FL) in late August. He heard from several programs following the event.
Martin was the focal point at Florida High this past year, routinely scoring in the mid-20s under head coach and former New York Knicks guard/Florida State QB Charlie Ward.
