Dominick Barlow, the 6-foot-9 forward from Dumont (NJ) High School and the NY Rens picked up an offer from Rutgers during his visit this week and is planning several other visits as well.
“The Rutgers campus was beautiful,” he said. “They had a amazing arena and practice facility. When I was talking to Coach [Steve] Pikiell he said my role would be a versatile wing that can guard 1 through 4 and space the floor .
“The offer felt great especially being a Jersey kid. Rutgers is the state college so it was a great feeling.”
Barlow, who plans on attending prep school next year, also plans to visit Pittsburgh June 22-24. He will have the chance to impress more coaches and draw additional offers at Peach Jam next month.
“Dominick is a modern day forward,” NY Rens coach Andy Borman said. “He can guard multiple positions and also score from multiple positions. He shoots the ball extremely well, but is also a very active rebounder. His upside is through the roof as he continues to work on the court and in the weight room.”
