Three-Star guard Jalen Ricks commits to Wichita State

By TOBIAS BASS

Jalen Ricks, the 6-foot-7 shooting guard from Oak Hill Academy (VA), committed to Wichita State on Sunday.

Ricks chose the Shockers over Oklahoma State, TCU, Towson, Arkansas, Ohio, Oral Roberts, and Southern Illinois.

“Jalen is a wing that has great three-point range, can score from mid-range, and really rebounds his position,” legenday Oak Hill coach Steve Smith told ZAGSBLOG. “He has been an honor student his entire high school career. Wichita State is getting a tremendous student-athlete!”

At Oak Hill last season he averaged 10.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. On January 30th, Ricks scored 25 points against future national champion Montverde Academy (FL), going 6-for-9 from three.

Ricks will join three-star Kenny Pohto as the only Shocker recruits for 2021.
