Texas Tech lands Winthrop guard Adonis Arms

By TOBIAS BASS

Texas Tech landed a commitment from Winthrop transfer guard Adonis Arms, he announced Saturday via Twitter.

“I would like to first begin this message by thanking God for everything He has done for my family and I,” he wrote. “As I begin a new marathon I would like to thank all the programs that have recruited me. Oklahoma State, DePaul, Butler, Iowa State and BYU to name a few. I really appreciate it. To the most important people in my life, mom, sister, Coach Mike, Coach Brad and close friends thank you all for believing in me. I love you all. For my last year of college, I will be committing to Texas Tech University #WreckEm”

The 6-foot-6, 205-pound guard out of Milwaukee, WI, averaged 10.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game last season for Winthrop. He also shot 41.2% from the field and 34.2% from deep.

Arms helped lead the Eagles to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017.
