Jonas Aidoo commits to Tennessee

By JACOB POLACHECK

Class of 2021 center Jonas Aidoo has committed to Tennessee, he announced Wednesday via Twitter.

The 6-foot-11, 215-pound center from Liberty Heights (NC) Athletic Institute, chose Tennessee over offers from Alabama, Appalachian State, Clemson, Georgia, Houston, Iona and Kansas, among others.

Aidoo de-committed from Marquette on March 29 following the firing of head coach Steve Wojciechowski.

Tennessee hired former Marquette associate head coach Justin Gainey on April 12.

Gainey spent the 2020-21 season as an assistant under Wojciechowski.

Aidoo joins five-star guard Kennedy Chandler and four-star wing Jahmai Mashack in the Vols’ 2021 recruiting class.

The Vols are also set to bring in French guard Quentin Diboundje and Auburn transfer Justin Powell.
