UConn commit Corey Floyd Jr. talks Huskies

Corey Floyd Jr., the 6-foot-4, 210-pound UConn commit from Roselle Catholic (NJ), is now officially done with his high school season.

Floyd Jr. had 14 points to help the Lions come from behind to beat Bergen Catholic, 64-58, on Saturday.

He’s looking ahead to joining coach Dan Hurley and the Huskies in 2022.

“It’s really just team basketball over there. They all get along together and just want to win,” Floyd told D1MediaPro.

Floyd last month chose the Huskies over Villanova and Providence, he told ZAGSBLOG in January.

“They made me feel like family, which is very important to me,” he said. “They just have that dog mentality.”

Floyd helped lead Roselle Catholic to a 12-3 record while averaging 19.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists.

Patrick School coach Chris Chavannes said Floyd and Class of 2021 UConn commit Samson Johnson have not begun to “scratch the surface” of their talent.
