After decommitting from Michigan State, Enoch Boakye is planning Zoom calls, mulling reclassification

By JACOB POLACHECK

Since his de-commitment from Michigan State Monday, Enoch Boakye has instantly become one of the best available prospects in the Class of 2022.

The 6-foot-10, 240-pound center from George Harris (ON) Prep, has heard from nine schools within the past 24 hours, George Harris coach George Aramide said in an interview with ZAGSBLOG Tuesday.

“Kentucky, Wake Forest, Oklahoma State, Washington, Washington State, UCLA, Maryland, Texas Tech and Arizona State,” he said.

Boakye does not have a timetable for his commitment ‘because of COVID’, Amaride said.

“We will do all the Zoom calls and go through the recruitment process,” he said. “And then decide if he will reclassify or not.”

If Boakye decides to make the move into the 2021 class, he will be on campus this summer.

Currently in the midst of setting up Zoom calls with coaches, Boakye is set to meet virtually with Oklahoma State staff on Wednesday.

“We will be planning more today with coaches,” Aramide said.

Ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 4 center and No. 20 overall prospect in the Class of 2022, Boakye is looking for an opportunity to play right away.

“He wants to go where he is loved,” Aramide said. “Great environment and gets to impact winning right away.

“Those are some main points on choosing where he will go.”
