Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim returns to team after completing 10-day isolation, Orange to host Bryant Friday

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim has completed his required 10-day isolation period after testing positive for COVID-19 and has returned to work, the school announced Monday.

The Orange will open the season Friday against Bryant at the Carrier Dome.

Boeheim, who turned 76 last week, said by text he had been “feeling great.”

Syracuse said “all members of the basketball program have undergone multiple tests since Coach Boeheim and another member of the program tested positive for COVID-19. Over that period, no additional players, coaches, or staff associated with the men’s basketball program have tested positive.”

The school said it will “remain in close contact with the Onondaga County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health, working together to ensure the health and safety of our student-athletes and our Central New York Community.”

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo also returned to team activities after his 14-day isolation period.
