Multiple Class of 2021 Big East recruits are competing this weekend at the Coach Wootten Top 100 Camp in Mansfield, Texas.
Villanova commit Trey Patterson Seton Hall pledge Tyler Powell, Georgetown commit Ryan Mutombo and UConn pledge Rahsool Diggins are all in attendance.
Rutgers recruit Jaden Jones of the Big Ten is also in attendance.
Due to the pandemic, no college coaches are in attendance but several recruiting evaluators for the McDonald’s Game are. The event was billed as a McDonald’s All-American Game evaluation event but is not directly affiliated with the McDonald’s All-American Game. The top 100 senior boys and girls, top 50 juniors and top 25 sophomores were invited.
Players were put through a screening process for COVID-19 at the event, sources said.
The NCAA recruiting dead period currently runs through Jan. 1 and is likely to be extended through the Final Four, so events like these are aimed at helping recruits gain college attention via live streams.
