Myles Powell Signs With Seton Hall

Y

Four-star recruit Myles Powell has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Seton Hall beginning in the fall of 2016.

Powell, who committed in September, is on the ESPN Top 100 list for Class of 2016 student-athletes, and is Seton Hall’s first commit for its 2016 recruiting class. Powell is also ranked the third-best recruit in the state of New Jersey, and is considered one of the best three-point shooters in the country.

“We are very excited to welcome Myles into the Seton Hall Basketball family,” head coach Kevin Willard said. “Myles has a tremendous shooting ability, and he also can beat his defenders off the dribble. He is a terrific young man who will fit in very well in our program and at the University.”

Powell attended Trenton Catholic High School until this year, when he transferred to South Kent School (Conn.), where he is playing for coach Kelvin Jefferson.

“Seton Hall is getting an elite shooter,” Jefferson said on The 4 Quarters Podcast. “Somebody with range that can really fill it up. I think arguably one of the best shooters, if not the best shooter, in the country. The one thing people don’t know about him is that he’s so good off the dribble. He can put it down. He can create shots for himself off the dribble or for others off the dribble. He’s not just a shooter. He can do a lot of things offensively and that’s why he’s so special.”
