Malcolm Chimezie to Boston University

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Malcolm Chimezie, the 6-foot-8, 230-pound power forward from Archbishop Stepinac (N.Y.), has committed to Boston University.

Ranked the No. 6 power forward in the Class of 2021 per 247Sports.com, Chimezie held 17 offers in total, including from Fairfield, Cal Poly, Robert Morris, Columbia, Siena and Stony Brook.

He picked BU because “just how much the coaches wanted me and I plan on being as versatile as possible.”

Chimezie played last season along incoming North Carolina freshman guard R.J. Davis and committed Duke rising senior A.J. Griffin.

“Malcolm and his family felt Boston University was the best fit for him both academically and athletically,” said Stepinac coach Pat Massaroni.

“He brings a skill set with the old school way of playing back to the basket, throw it into the post but can step out and knock down shots. At 6-8 he can block shots, rebounds at a high level and can finish around the rim.”
