Angelo Brizzi, the 6-foot-3, 170-pound point guard from Highland (VA), named California, Villanova, Colorado, Arizona, Michigan, Georgetown, Davidson, Dartmouth, LSU, Iona, Old Dominion, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech among the schools making him a priority.
He broke down each school for ZAGSBLOG Sunday:
Cal: “They are a top-tier academic institution and the chance to play in the Pac-12 would be very cool.”
Villanova: “Villanova has been one of the top programs nationally over the past few years and does great with their guards.”
Colorado: “Playing in the Pac-12 would be awesome and I’ve really enjoyed speaking with the entire staff.”
Arizona: “Another school that produces good point guards and coach [Sean] Miller knows how to use the guards he brings into the program.”
Michigan: “A great academic and athletic school. The staff is great.”
Georgetown: “I would be staying close to home and playing in the Big East. The Big East is a great conference.”
Davidson: “Having the chance to lead a program, and coach [Bob] McKillop has done a very good job with guards in the past, such as Stephen Curry.”
Dartmouth: “The Ivy League aspect is very attractive to me, they have great academics.”
LSU: “Getting to play in the SEC, and they have been very good the past few years.”
Iona: “Playing for coach [Rick] Pitino in New York City would be very cool. It will be interesting to see how they do this season.”
Old Dominion: “Again, staying in-state and having the chance to lead a program to a lot of success.”
Wake Forest: “It’s a great academic school in the ACC and I like the staff. Coach [Steve] Forbes is very successful.”
Virginia Tech: “The opportunity to play in the ACC and stay in Virginia sound awesome. They know how to use their guards well.”
Back in April, Brizzi told ZAGSBLOG that Villanova, Georgetown, Yale, Dartmouth and Old Dominion were. the schools recruiting him the hardest.
Brizzi is also receiving interest from North Carolina, Iowa State and Virginia.
“As far as a timetable for commitment, I honestly don’t have one,” Brizzi said. “I’m just trying to feel out the situation with everything going on currently.”
According to 247Sports.com, Brizzi is ranked as the No. 19 point guard and No. 117 overall player in the Class of 2021.
“I feel that I have a really strong ability to shoot from range off the dribble and off the catch as well.”
