Brandon Lieb, the 7-foot, 205-pound center from Deerfield (IL) High School, announced his commitment to Illinois on Thursday, via Twitter.
Lieb chose Illinois over schools such as Utah, Oklahoma State, DePaul, Penn, Oklahoma, Toledo, Tulsa, Milwaukee, Bucknell and Boston University, among others.
Lieb’s commitment comes just two days after picking up an offer from Illinois. He met with the Illinois coaching staff via Zoom on Wednesday.
He joins Adam Miller, Andre Curbelo and Coleman Hawkins as the fourth commit in Illinois’ 2020 class. The Illini will also bring in sit-out transfers Jacob Grandison and Austin Hutcherson.
Lieb averaged 13.5 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in his senior year at Deerfield before the season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.
