South Carolina’s A.J. Lawson remains in the NBA Draft

By ADAM ZAGORIA

South Carolina’s A.J. Lawson is still in the NBA Draft, despite reports to the contrary.

“He’s still in the draft,” Lawson’s father, Anthony, told ZAGSBLOG on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-6 combo guard from Toronto tested the NBA Draft waters last year but was not invited to the league’s combine. He held individual workouts for several teams before coming back to the Gamecocks. This year he announced in April he would test the waters again, but players have not been able to have individual workouts with NBA teams due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lawson started all 31 games this season at South Carolina, averaging a team-best 13.4 points a game with 3.7 rebounds.
