Long Beach State lands Iona transfer Isaiah Washington

Iona junior point guard Isaiah Washington will transfer to Long Beach State, he announced Monday via Instagram.

He will have to sit out the 2020-21 season before being eligible in 2021-22 unless he receives a waiver.

Washington, the 6-foot-1 guard from Harlem, NY, spent his freshman and sophomore seasons with Minnesota before transferring to Iona for the 2019-20 season.

Last season, Washington averaged 11.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game for the Gaels. He played in 28 games, starting 23.
