NCAA grants UCLA’s Johnny Juzang immediate eligibility

By JACOB POLACHECK

UCLA’s Johnny Juzang has received a waiver from the NCAA and is eligible for the 20-21 college basketball season, a source confirmed to ZAGSBLOG Wednesday.

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports was first to report the news.

Juzang played in 28 games for Kentucky as a freshman, starting in two. He averaged 2.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 12.3 minutes per game.

UCLA loses guard Prince Ali and forward Alex Olesinski to graduation, while junior guard Chris Smith is testing the NBA Draft waters.

The Bruins also lost a commitment from Daishen Nix, who de-committed from UCLA last month to sign with the NBA G-League.

Juzang will join small forward Jaylen Clark in UCLA’s 2020 class.
