Jaylon Gibson to NC State

By JACOB POLACHECK

Jaylon Gibson, the 6-foot-11 power forward from Grace Christian School (NC), announced his commitment to N.C. State on Thursday, via Twitter.

Gibson, who de-committed from Wake Forest on Apr. 27, chose N.C. State over schools such as Louisville, Maryland, Iowa, South Florida, Houston, Syracuse, UNCW, Providence and Miami, among others.

He joins Cam Hayes, Shakeel Moore, Nick Farrar and Ebenezer Dowuona as the fifth commit in NC State’s 2020 class.

Last season at Grace Christian, Gibson averaged 16.0 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.9 blocks per game, leading the Eagles to a 21-12 overall record.

According to 247Sports.com, Gibson is ranked as the No. 67 power forward and the No. 330 overall player in the Class of 2020.
