7-foot-3 Purdue transfer Matt Haarms down to three schools, will announce Thursday

By ADAM ZAGORIA

After more than 20 schools reached out to 7-foot-3 Purdue graduate transfer Matt Haarms, he has trimmed his list to three and will announce Thursday, he confirmed to ZAGSBLOG. Haarms said he’s uncertain exactly what time he will announce.

Haarms is down to Kentucky, Texas Tech and BYU, according to 247Sports.com. He trimmed Arizona, Arkansas, Boston College, Gonzaga, Memphis, Minnesota and UNC Greensboro from his previous list of 10.

The native of the Netherlands averaged 8.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks last season at Purdue, and figures to provide an instant defensive impact wherever he lands.

Kentucky players and fans are among those on board with trying to land Haarms.
