Luke Goode has committed to Illinois, he announced Friday, via Twitter.
“I committed because I’ve been their No. 1 guy since day 1,” Goode told 247Sports. “Coach [Stephen] Gentry and Coach [Brad] Underwood have made me a priority for their program and that is the program I wanted to play for.”
Goode, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Homestead (IN), chose Illinois over Maryland, Iowa, Butler, Louisville, Michigan State, Xavier, Northwestern and Stanford, among others.
He is the first commit in Illinois’ 2021 class. The Illini will also bring in Jacob Grandison, who sat out the 2019-20 season after transferring from Holy Cross.
According to 247Sports, Goode is ranked as the No. 22 shooting guard and No. 97 overall player in the Class of 2021.
