Jahmai Mashack, the 6-foot-4, 180-pound shooting guard from Etiwanda (CA), picked up an offer from Arizona on Wednesday.
“Coach [Sean] Miller just talked to me about his need for two way players,” Mashack told ZAGSBLOG Thursday. “Defense wins. That’s not always the most glamorous part but it’s definitely a part of what I bring.”
Mashacks’s older brother Kwesi played defensive back at Arizona from 2014-17.
“Obviously I’m familiar with Arizona,” Mashack said. “My family is close, so we would travel to Tucson a lot.”
“But more importantly the basketball history from even before Sean Miller is big time,” he said. “It’s definitely a key program on the West.”
Earlier this month, Mashack picked up offers from Utah, Colorado and Oklahoma. He broke down those offers for ZAGSBLOG on April 1.
According to 247Sports, Mashack is ranked as the No. 16 shooting guard and No. 76 overall player in the Class of 2021.
