Returning from a knee injury, 2022 forward Joseph Pinion has begun receiving high-major interest.
Pinion, a 6-foot-6, 180-pound small forward from Morrilton (AR), picked up his first high-major offer from Kansas on March 24.
“I know that they’re a great basketball program that’s always winning,” Pinion said. “I really like how they play, going up and down the floor fast and playing in transition.”
In addition to Kansas, Pinion holds offers from DePaul, Central Arkansas, Oral Roberts, South Alabama and Tulsa.
Pinion says that he is also receiving interest from Arkansas, Baylor and Louisville.
As a sophomore, Pinion averaged 18.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.6 steals, 1.4 blocks and 1.3 assists per game during the 2019-20 season.
He broke down his game for ZAGSBLOG Monday:
“I feel like I do everything on the floor,” he said. “I can rebound, shoot the ball well and communicate with my teammates.”
However, Pinion recently suffered a knee injury that has kept him out of play.
“The recovery is going well,” he said. I think I’m ahead of schedule.”
Pinion said he hopes to get back on the court “sometime in June”.
In the meantime, Pinion says he’s been working on his ball handling.
