Rhody lands 2020 forward Abou Ousmane

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Abou Ousmane, the 6-foot-9, 240-pound forward from Scotland Campus (PA), has committed to Rhode Island.

“I felt like it’s the best all-around fit,” he said.

The Brooklyn native also considered Saint Louis, Fordham, UMass, Texas A&M, North Texas, Iona, and Old Dominion.

“Abou made a big transition this year in everything he did,” Scotland Campus coach Chris Chaney said. “He was a great teammate, a fierce competitor and ran the floor very well. He is definitely going to have a strong career because of his scoring ability and has good concepts on the offensive end. His length and toughness and nose for the ball makes him tough on the defensive end. I am very proud of Abou on and off the court. Big future ahead!”

He joins point guard Elijah Wood and shooting guard Ishmael Leggett in Rhody’s 2020 class.
