Vanderbilt small forward Aaron Nesmith will forgo his junior season and enter the NBA Draft, he announced Thursday via Instagram.
“I have decided to enter the 2020 NBA Draft and intend to hire an agent,” Nesmith wrote on Instagram. “I am so grateful for what life has brought me so far and I cannot wait for this next step in my journey.”
Nesmith had a breakout sophomore season in 2019-20, averaging 23.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game, shooting 52 percent from three-point range.
However, his season was cut short after only 14 games because of a stress fracture in his foot that required surgery in late January.
Nesmith is currently ranked as the No. 17 best available prospect in the 2020 Draft on ESPN’s Big Board.
