Jalen Carey, Brycen Goodine, Howard Washington expected to transfer from Syracuse

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Jalen Carey, Brycen Goodine and Howard Washington are all expected to transfer from Syracuse while redshirt junior forward Elijah Hughes is “on the fence” about turning pro, sources told ZAGSBLOG.

Goodine, a 6-foot-3 freshman guard from New Bedford, Mass., averaged 1.9 points in 8.7 minutes. He Tweeted his decision on Friday.

Carey, a 6-3 sophomore from Harlem, N.Y., averaged 1.5 points in 11.5 minutes while missing significant time this season with a thumb injury.

Washington, a 6-3 junior guard from Buffalo, averaged 1.2 points in 7.4 minutes.

Syracuse returns a core that includes sophomore guard Buddy Boeheim, freshman guard Joe Girard III, junior Marek Dolezaj, freshman forward Quincy Guerrier and junior forward Bourama Sidibe. The Orange also bring in shooting guard Kadary Richmond and power forward Woody Newton.
