Oregon picked to win the Pac-12; freshmen Mannion, McDaniels, Stewart named to First-Team

The new-look Oregon Ducks were picked to win the Pac-12 Conference, followed by Colorado, Washington, Arizona and USC.

The Ducks made strong moves in the offseason. Their six-man recruiting class is ranked No. 4 nationally by 247Sports.com.

It includes shooting guard Chris Duarte, forwards C.J. Walker, Chandler Lawson and Lok Wur and centers N’Faly Dante and Isaac Johnson. Oregon also added UNLV grad transfer Shakur Juiston, New Mexico grad transfer Anthony Mathis and sit-out transfers Eugene Omoruyi and Eric Williams Jr.

All five of the Pac-12’s record-tying five incoming McDonald’s All-Americans earned recognition with Washington’s Jaden McDaniels and Isaiah Stewart landing on the first team, Arizona’s Nico Mannion on first team and Josh Green on second team, and USC’s Isaiah Mobley with honorable mention status. Dante made the second team and Walker was honorable mention.

Mannion, McDaniels and Stewart are all projected lottery picks in 2020 per ESPN.com, while Green is a projected first-rounder as well.
