Caleb Love to North Carolina

By JACOB POLACHECK

Caleb Love, the 6-foot-3 point guard from Christian Brothers College (MO), announced his commitment to North Carolina on Tuesday at his high school.

“I’m headed to North Carolina and the reason I picked them was when I went on my visit, it felt like a family culture, from start to finish, from when I got there to when I left,” Love told 247Sports. “I just felt like it was home.”

Love chose North Carolina over Missouri. He took his official visit to North Carolina on September 20.

“Honestly when I left the visit I knew that was home,” Love said. “My mom and my dad told me to sleep on it for a couple of days just to make sure and then that’s when I was like, ‘yeah, that’s the place for me.’”

Love joins Walker Kessler and Day’Ron Sharpe as the third commit in the Tar Heels’ 2020 class. They are still in the running for five-stars Cade Cunningham, Greg Brown, Ziaire Williams, Isaiah Todd, Bryce Thompson. UNC is also pursuing four-stars Puff Johnson, Hunter Dickinson, Dawson Garcia, Earl Timberlake, and R.J. Davis.

On September 25, Love cut both Kansas and Louisville from his list and cancelled trips to each school.

According to 247Sports, Love is ranked as the No. 21 overall player in the Class of 2020 and the No. 4 ranked point guard.

Playing for Brad Beal Elite on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer, Love averaged 15.8 points, 5.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds a game.
