Duke offers DeMatha big man Hunter Dickinson

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Hunter Dickinson, the 7-foot-2 center from DeMatha Catholic (MD), picked up a scholarship offer from Duke on Friday.

“The Duke offer was exciting,” he said. “It’s very prestigious. Next is cutting my list down again .”

Dickinson told ZAGSBLOG he hopes to visit Duke in October.

Michigan, North Carolina, Florida State, Providence, Louisville and Notre Dame have also been involved.

Duke added power forward Henry Coleman on Friday but will need additional frontcourt help with Javin DeLaurier and Jack White graduating and Vernon Carey Jr. and Matthew Hurt expected to be one-and-dones.

According to 247Sports, Dickinson is ranked as the No. 6 center in the Class fo 2020.

“I’m a really skilled big man, who you can run the offense through,” he said this summer. “I can play with another big man or as the singular big man.”

“I can pass well and my low post game is really good,” he said. “I’m a better shooter than people realize and a really good defender.”
