Walker Kessler, the 6-foot-10 center from Woodward Academy (GA), has committed to North Carolina, per 247Sports. Kessler took an official visit to North Carolina this past weekend.
“They’re a great historic program,” Kessler told ZAGSBLOG Sunday via text. “I really liked the campus. Coach Roy [Williams] and the coaching staff were great.”
Walker had previously taken visits to Auburn, Duke and Michigan. Gonzaga was also on his list.
“[What appealed most about my visit] was talking with Coach Roy about how he would play me and just hanging out with the team on campus,” said Kessler. “I anticipate playing that stretch big spot like Luke Maye.”
According to 247Sports, Kessler is ranked as the No. 15 overall player in the Class of 2020 and the No. 3 ranked center.
He joins Day’Ron Sharpe as the second commit in the Tar Heels’ 2020 class.
