2020 wing Reece Brown updates recruitment

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Reece Brown, the 6-foot-9, 190-pound wing from Loomis Chaffee (CT), is being recruited by Rice, UNLV, Wisconsin and Georgetown, among others.

Brown will take his first official visit to Rice (Sept. 27-29). He’s also planning an official visit to Wisconsin, which offered on Monday, potentially for the weekend of Oct. 11. Brown also wants to visit UNLV late next month, and Georgetown at some point.

He broke down several schools:

Rice: “Rice is obviously well known for academics and the coaching staff has been showing me love for a while and I feel that I could have an immediate impact there, continue to develop and finish with a great degree.”

UNLV: “With UNLV I really believe they’re turning things around. They have a great recruiting class so far and they fit my style of play which is fast and positionless. They’re whole coaching staff all is about development which is huge.

Wisconsin: “Obviously, Wisconsin is such a well-known program and I really think they can develop me into the player I can be. Producing on a big stage in the Big Ten would be awesome.”

Georgetown: “Playing for Coach [Patrick] Ewing and Georgetown would be incredible learning from an NBA legend. I think I can definitely develop and play in a great conference as well. We haven’t talked about visit dates yet but I’d love to take an official there.”

Wherever he lands, Brown hopes to make an impact.

“I’m well known for my athleticism and the way I jump but I think my jumper and handle are continuing to get better,” he said. “I play above the room and love to shoot pull-ups. I think I’m real versatile on defense and and guard 1-4.”
