Scottie Barnes is on the move from one national power based in Florida
The 6-foot-8 small forward Tweeted he will transfer to Montverde (FL) Academy from University (FL) School for his senior season.

Barnes is ranked No. 9 in the 2020 ESPN 100. He lists Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Miami, Oregon, Florida State, California, and Ohio State as his top eight schools.
Barnes is the latest high-profile player to join up with coach Kevin Boyle’s program. North Carolina commit Day’Ron Sharpe is also headed to Montverde. So are 6-8 Czech forward David Bohm, 6-4 Michigan commit Zeb Jackson and 6-4 elite junior shooting guard Langston Love.
Montverde returns 6-7 senior point guard Cade Cunningham, the No. 2 player in 2020, 6-6 2020 shooter Moses Moody, 6-5 2022 guard Dariq Whitehead and 6-8 2022 forward Caleb Houston.
Since 2011, Boyle has coached six top-3 NBA Draft picks in No. 1s Ben Simmons and Kyrie Irving, No. 2s D’Angelo Russell and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and No. 3s Joel Embiid and R.J. Barrett.
