Top JUCO prospect Jayden Scrubb stands out at Team USA Training Camp

By JACOB POLACHECK

COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. ā€” One of the biggest standouts at the Team USA U19 Training Camp has been JUCO prospect Jayden Scrubb.

Scrubb, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from John Logan College (KY), has been tremendous in the first two days of practices on both the offensive and defensive ends.

“I’m just working hard and doing the little things like clapping and cheering on the other guys,” Scrubb told ZAGSBLOG Sunday. “Iā€™m trying to make others feel comfortable.”

Scrubb, the No. 1 rated junior college recruit by 247Sports, averaged 19.5 points and 8.6 rebounds last season.

“They haven’t had a JUCO player at the U-19 trials in a while,” said ESPN college basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla. “For him to be invited says a lot. It’s a credit to him. He’s one of the best players here.”

Louisville is believed to be the favorite for his recruitment at the moment, as he took an unofficial back in May.

Scrubb recently received an offer from Texas Tech. Alabama, VCU and Cincinnati are also involved.
