History on the line: Either Virginia or Texas Tech will win its first NCAA Championship

By ADAM ZAGORIA

MINNEAPOLIS — Either Virginia or Texas Tech will win its first NCAA Championship here on Monday night.

Texas Tech is looking to become the first school since UConn in 1999 to win the crown in its first Final Four appearance.

Virginia is seeking to become the first team in 60 seasons to win the title with the best scoring defense in the country.

“This game is going to be a suffocating defensive battle, and whoever comes up making some shots is going to win the championship,” ESPN’s Dick Vitale said on air.
