Fran Belibi becomes first girl to win McDonald’s Dunk Contest since 2004, beats out Scottie Lewis, Precious Achiuwa for title

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Stanford commit Fran Belibi became the first girl to win the McDonald’s All-American Slam Dunk Contest since Candace Parker in 2004.

Belibi jumped over another McDonald’s girls player and dunked with one hand to beat Florida-bound Scottie Lewis and uncommited Precious Achiuwa in the final. She was the only girl with six boys in the contest.

Earlier she had a two-handed dunk off a pass off the backboard.

The 6-5 Florida-bound Lewis came close with several impressive jams.

The 6-9 Achiuwa, who is mulling UNC and Kansas among others, also reached the final.
