Selection Sunday is here.
And according to ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi, the ACC is poised to get three No. 1 seeds in Duke, Virginia and North Carolina, with Gonzaga of the WCC the fourth No. 1.
Duke would be the No. 1 overall seed after Zion Williamson looked dominant in winning Most Valuable Player honors as the Blue Devils won the ACC Tournament title Saturday night over Florida State.
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski says the ACC deserves three No. 1 s.
“It’s grueling in our conference, and I think it makes us all better, but we should get rewarded for that,” he said.
Coach K gave props to the SEC and Big Ten, but said the ACC is unique.
“We have four 25-game winning programs, and Virginia Tech was just below,” he said. “And in the conference 16-2, 16-2, 14-4, 13- 5, and it made it look like the league may not have been as good, but that’s wrong.”
Meantime, several other teams, including St. John’s, will be sweating it out until 6 p.m.
