Kansas senior guard LaGerald Vick will not rejoin the KU basketball team for the upcoming Big 12 or NCAA Tournaments, KU coach Bill Self said at Monday’s weekly news conference at Allen Fieldhouse.
“No,” said Self when asked if there would be any roster movement involving Vick.
“There’s no movement and it’s not going to move back. There’s really no reason to ask. More than enough time has passed. We won’t have any roster changes moving forward.”
Vick has been on a leave of absence since Feb. 7 when it was announced that he would be stepping away to tend to “personal matters”.
In 23 games this season, Vick averaged 14.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. KU is already without big men Udoka Azubuike and Silvio de Sousa for the remainder of the season.
With a 23-8 record (12-6 Big 12), KU finished third in the Big 12. This is the first time in 14 years that the Jayhawks have not won at least a share of the Big 12 regular season title.
