Bracketology: Duke, Tennessee, Virginia, Gonzaga are the current No. 1 seeds

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Selection Sunday is now less than a month away.

So as we check in on Jerry Palm’s latest Bracketology on CBSSports.com, it’s time for an update.

Palm currently has Duke, Tennessee, Virginia and Gonzaga as the 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament, with Michigan State, Michigan, Kentucky and North Carolina as the 2 seeds.

That would make three ACC teams among the top eight seeds, two Big Ten schools, two SEC schools and one WAC outfit.

The 3 seeds in include Marquette, Kansas, Houston and LSU, while the 4s feature Texas Tech, Nevada, Iowa and Purdue.

After its loss Sunday to St. John’s, Villanova is now a 6 seed, while the Johnnies moved up to a 7. In this latest mock, St. John’s guard Mustapha Heron would play his old team Auburn, a 10 seed.

Seton Hall, which is tied for third place in the Big East with St. John’s, is currently a 9 seed.

Yale is a 13 and Hofstra a 14.

The Last Four in are UCF, Arizona State, Butler and Clemson, while the First Four Out are Furman, Utah State, Nerbaska and Florida.
