It’s only late January, but March Madness is right around the corner.
So as we check in on Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology, it’s time for an update.
ESPN currently has Duke, Michigan State, Virginia and Tennessee as the 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament, with Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan and Gonzaga as the 2 seeds.
It’s only a projection but Duke and Kentucky are seeded to meet in the East Regional final in Washington, D.C. in a rematch of the Champions Classic, where Zion Williamson and the Blue Devils destroyed John Calipari’s club by 34 points.
The Big Ten leads all conferences with 10 teams, followed by the ACC (8) and the SEC and Big 12 with 7 apiece.
The Big East has four teams with No. 12-ranked Marquette, No. 18 Villanova, St. John’s and Seton Hall. (For more on St. John’s, read this.)
Hofstra, riding a 15-game winning streak, is currently a 12 seed.
The four @BIGEASTMBB teams in the Dance include 4-seed @MarquetteMBB , 6-seed @NovaMBB , 10-seed @StJohnsBBall and 11-seed @SetonHallMBB @HofstraMBB , riding a 15-game winning streak, would be a 12 seed. https://t.co/1u7BUVq1PW
