Anthony Walker, the 6-foot-8, 205-pound forward from Brewster (N.H.) Academy, has cut his list to four schools and set a decision date.
Walker is down to Pittsburgh, Illinois, Miami and Boston College and will announce Oct. 20. He visited Illinois (Sept. 3), Pittsburgh (Sept. 14) and Rhode Island (Sept. 21) and Miami (Oct. 6). He did not visit BC officially.
He recently recapped his previous visits.
Illinois: “Illinois was around the same message. They wanted me to know they have a lot of pieces leaving because they have a lot of seniors, and me coming in would help that. I would make an immediate impact. I would be able to fly around the floor, which I did all summer. And being able to do multiple things on the court, and not just being stuck doing one thing. I would be able to showcase my talents.”
Pittsburgh: “Coach [Jeff Capel] was letting me know that they don’t have a guy like me on their current roster, so he was telling me that I would be a different type of dude than he’s had in the past. I would come in and make an immediate impact and play right away.”
Miami: “It was great being out there [at Miami] just being able to see the coaches in person and spend a weekend with them and understand their goals. It was great.
“Their message was that they wanted me to know as a freshman I would come in and be able to make an immediate impact, using my versatility. I wouldn’t be stuck at one position. They would have me all over the court.”
