Quinn Slazinski, the 6-foot-8 power forward from Huntington (WV) Prep, announced his commitment to Louisville on Thursday, via Twitter. Slazinski’s commitment comes following a visit from Louisville head coach Chris Mack and assistant Dino Gaudio at his school Thursday afternoon.
Slazinski and the Louisville staff mapped out a plan that includes him redshirting during the 2019-2020 season, per 247Sports.
“Quinn brings added toughness, shooting and a understanding of how to play,” Huntington Prep coach Arkell Bruce told ZAGSBLOG. “He’s a worker who competes all the time.”
According to 247Sports, Slazinski is ranked as the No. 206 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 2 player from the state of West Virginia. He joins Samuell Williamson, David Johnson, Jaelyn Withers, and Josh Nickelberry as the fifth commit in the Cardinals’ 2019 class.
Slazinski chose Louisville over his top five of Michigan State, DePaul, Wake Forest, and Xavier.
Louisville continues to focus their attention on four-star big man Aidan Igiehon, who takes his third official visit to Louisville this weekend (Sept. 28). Igiehon, who cut his list to four last month, has taken an official visit to Oregon (Sept. 14).
