Christian Braun to Kansas

By JACOB POLACHECK

Christian Braun, the 6-foot-5 small forward from Blue Valley Northwest (KS) High School, announced his commitment to Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks on Monday, via Twitter.

“First, I would like to thank my parents for loving me and caring for me throughout my life and sacrificing everything to put me in the best position for my future,” said Braun in a statement released via Twitter. “I would also like to thank my coaches for guiding me throughout this process. I would like to thank MOKAN for giving me a platform to showcase my ability for the past 6 years…”

“I am committing to the University of Kansas!”

According to 247Sports, Braun is ranked as the No. 130 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 4 player from the state of Kansas. He is the first commit in the Jayhawks’ 2019 class.

Braun chose KU over schools such as DePaul, Illinois, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Creighton, Lehigh, Loyola Chicago, Mississippi State, Missouri State, Oklahoma, Saint Louis, and Texas Tech, among others.

He first received an offer from Kansas on August 30 during an unofficial visit.
