Precious Achiuwa and Lester Quinones, two elite Class of 2019 players, are both transferring out of St. Benedict’s Prep (N.J.) to national powerhouses in Florida.
The 6-foot-9 Achiuwa, ranked No. 12 by ESPN.com in the Class of 2019, will transfer to Montverde (FL) Academy where he will play for legendary coach Kevin Boyle. Boyle, whose team went 35-0 en route to the GEICO High School National Championship last season, has now won four high school national championships since leaving New Jersey power St. Patrick.
The Montverde roster now includes Achiuwa, Cade Cunningham, Ryan Nembhard, Harlond Beverly, Dariq Whitehead, Justin Powell, Brandon Newman, Moses Moody, Caleb Houston, Balsa Koprivica and Omar Payne.
The 6-5 Quinones will transfer to play for the postgrad team at IMG Academy coached by John Mahoney, the same program that produced current Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons.

Achiuwa and Quinones join former New York City prep stars Cole Anthony and Kofi Cockburn in leaving the New York/New Jersey area this summer. Both the 6-2 Anthony and the 6-11 Cockburn transferred to Oak Hill Academy (VA).
Oak Hill and Montverde will likely compete in the GEICO High School Nationals at Christ the King High School in April.
