THEUS INTERVIEWING FOR USC JOB

Reggie Theus will meet today with USC Athletic Director Mike Garrett about the coaching vacancy and is expected to take the job if offered, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Theus was fired as the Kings’ coach in December, 24 games into his second season. Before that, he was the head coach at New Mexico State, where he was 41-33 in two seasons. He also spent two years at Louisville as an assistant.
A native of Southern California who attended Inglewood High, Theus is also a former actor who would seemingly be comfortable in the environment.
Tim Floyd resigned as the Trojans’ coach June 9 in the face of the NCAA investigation over the O.J. Mayo scandal.
Pitt coach Jamie Dixon, who already rebuffed Arizona before it hired Sean Miller, also reportedly turned down the USC gig.

  • as a former actor, theus would be usc’s “acting” head coach. of couse he’ll take the job if offered, what other choices does he have. welome to the pac10 reggie and to the muddle you are about to inherit. CondomNation awaits you.

watch usc enter lance’s rumor mill this weekend, then get axed quickly by garrett before reggie gets to say “but!”.

  • Adam,

I believe I remember you mentioning a while back that SHU was looking at/recruiting Harrison Baines. Is that true/is it still the case? Or was I just imagining it all?

Also who is SHU recruiting on this list besides the obvious St. Ant’s/St. Pat’s guys? Thanks.
