Daniel Ramsey to Xavier

By JACOB POLACHECK

Daniel Ramsey, the 6-foot-8 power forward from Deerfield-Windsor (GA) School, announced his commitment to Xavier on Monday, via Twitter. His commitment comes after taking his first and only official visit to Xavier last week (Aug. 1-3)

“I chose Xavier base on the relationship I have with the staff and their belief in me,” Ramsey told ZAGSBLOG Monday.

Ramsey joins shooting guard Elias King as the second commit in the Musketeer’s 2019 class.

“I feel I’ll fit in great,” said Ramsey. “They get their frontcourt guys the ball and really play team basketball.”

According to 247Sports, Ramsey is ranked as the No. 119 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 5 player from the state of Georgia.

Ramsey chose Xavier over schools such as Ohio State, Florida, Georgia, Rice, and Vanderbilt, among others. Xavier was his only official visit.

“I just really liked the facilities and the small campus feel,” said Ramsey. “I’m excited to come and compete for a national title.”

Playing for Team Thad on the Under Armour Circuit, Ramsey averaged 8.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, in eight games played.
