2021 Trey Patterson Discusses Recruitment; Talks Summer Ball

By JACOB POLACHECK

Trey Patterson, the 6-foot-7 small forward from Rutgers (NJ) Preparatory School, told ZAGSBLOG Friday that Villanova and Stanford have been among the schools to show interest of late.

Patterson, who currently holds offers from Florida, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Wake Forest, and Cincinnati, spoke about what he’s looking for in a school.

“Being a student-athlete, the academics have to be there,” said Patterson. “Also, I want a good basketball program. Something like a family, that brings everyone together towards one goal and accomplishing that goal.”

Playing with Team Rio, Patterson averaged 12.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, in eight games played.

“I played really well this summer,” said Patterson. “Our last couple of tournaments and events in July, I played really well and ended my summer on a high note.”

According to 247Sports, Patterson is ranked as the No. 18 overall player in the Class of 2021 and the No. 1 player from the state of New Jersey.

“I would say I’m very versatile at my size,” said Patterson. “I can play the guard spot and go down low. I can guard multiple positions on the defensive end. I’m very versatile and I have a lot of potential to move into the guard spot.”
