Chuks Isitua, the 6-foot-11 center from Cy-Fair (TX) Learning Center, told ZAGSBLOG Thursday that he currently holds offers from Detroit, Colorado State, and Tennessee State, with interest from Tennessee and Oklahoma State.
“This year, I want to try and win a state championship and get better,” said Isitua. “I also want to improve my education and get more offers.”
Originally from Nigeria, Isitua came to the United States two years ago at the age of 14, only one year after he began playing basketball at the age of 13.
“It was hard coming down here,” said Isitua. “I’ve had to work to balance school and sports.”
Within a few short years, Isitua has developed into one of the top players in the nation, with 247Sports ranking him as the No. 26 overall player in the Class of 2021 and the No. 4 ranked center.
Isitua has received much attention playing on the Nike EYBL Circuit with the We All Can Go All Stars.
“I’ve been playing with them for a couple years,” said Isitua. “It’s a good change and we play well together.”
Describing his game, Isitua says that he’s a “post player who can play the four or the five”.
“I can go outside sometimes and shoot the ball,” he said. “I’ve been working to improve my shooting. I’m also looking to add post moves.”
